So, off down to the sunny south of france for (for me) the first festival of the season....
Wasn't expecting to see many people, considering last years fiasco, and the weather wasn't looking good either....
Arrived at Cubieres, headed for the camping, and as soon as we left the track to go onto the field, the car kind of slid to a halt where it wanted to.Ok, we'll park here then.Geology lesson; add clay soil to heavy rain, and you quickly get a very sticky gooey mud....
And thus began a weekend of rain, more rain, and ever increasing quantities of mud.
The dance floor was very "dark"; psilopat had done a super string deco which was unfortunately not fully exploited by the lighting, as most of the lights had died in the rain, only the most "motivated" dancers occupied the space fully, as lifting your feet with three kilos of clay was soooo much effort (discovered interesting new ways to dance by leaning from side to side defying gravity completely, but hoping that your feet would not come unstuck at the wrong moment).
Saturday (more rain)afternoon, straw was delivered to cover the dance floor; it was great, and there was even a ray of sunshine that lasted nearly thirty seconds.... the straw lasted until evening, before becoming even deeper mud.Missed most of the night (siesta that lasted til four in the morning).Apparently, my reliable sources informed me, it rained.Only a light drizzle in the morning which didn't stop anyone from slopping around , and the afternoon more straw was brought in.Heavier rain meant that after about ten minutes it was stomped back into mud.In fact, to cut a long story short, it only stopped raining on monday, when it was time to go......
What could have been a total disaster was saved by well planned organisation:
*Armchairs and sofas in one of the chill outs (all very well this sitting on cushions stuff, but you can't beat a comfy sofa)
*Constant entertainement watching people try to move their cars from one place to another...and failing)
*Good music (I'll leave the music review to someone who knows all the names)
*A good crowd; maybe fifteen hundred people(???), who seemed to stay for the whole weekend, regardless of the first world war trench conditions (or maybe it was just because it was nearly impossible to get out without the help of Jean-pierre and his tractor)
*No complaining (normally, you can hear people bitching to the organisers about all sorts of pointless things, like why don't they stop the rain?)

Criticisms; no showers (hang on a minute; they had the best showers on any festival; permanent, and everywhere!)
Thirty five euros maybe a little expensive..but excusable considering they needed to pay off last years one...
Chai at two euros (now that's unforgivable; if there's one thing I don't like, it's overpriced milky tea)
And that's about it really; always a pleasure to see people capable of enjoying themselves whatever the conditions and creating an excellent atmosphere. Most people didn't even squat for hours on end in their cars!!
So well done Dragonhunters, and next time, please mark on the flyer "no fish on the dance floor"

So see ya all there again for the Space Pirate revolution in July...
Thank's french family's...you are the one s that make me feal @ home..........
Special thank's to Bea, Merril, Christine, Steff, Nico...and all the other's that i can't remember theyr names....we had proved that we are a great team, with the work that we have done even with all the problems and desorganisation....
You can count on me for the next project...

Woooow, despite all the rain at end and mud. This is to remember for long time. It started with nice weather on thursday but on friday it started to rain, but the energy was so warm you did't even feel the cold and wet. Thank you to all involved and who came to help to make it so special. the english crew offcours (Slackbaba, Dirty Saffi, Psymetrix and all their friends, Sacha) for the nice vibes and good music. Mr Forensic Cortex it was really nice to have you there and you great deco had really nice time with all you guys. special thanks to Bea, Agustin, Merril, Paulo, Tony, Valerie, Thibaud and all who kept it going and also building it off. Thanks to Psylopat and Christo. Nice to be part of this, the real people and the real vibes hard to find nowdays. the location and the music it was just so complete all together, specially that organic power from my Macedonian friends (Davor, Sache, Leo, Encephalo, and all) special thanks to you bros it was great to have you there, your lives was the highlight at least for me. hope to cu very soon
