My recently bought 828mkII is giving me some trouble with vista. in xp everything works perfectly but in vista it routs the signal from pc to analog 5-6, and not the main outs. And so I can only hear sound in the headphones when I select analog 5-6 option in the phones menu. Anybody has suggestions on how to fix this? I've tried reinstalling the drivers, and all the setting are the same as they are in xp... |

I dont know exactly, but with my ultralite on mac I also dont see headphones out in logic....need to send it to output13-14 to get it to the phones, but maybe its just the internal name for them 
but no idea if its possible, or even needed to fix this...

Why not to save some more $ and get Rme Fireface 400 and forget all headaches?

btw, you re talking really about Main Out or Phones Out?
cause the main outs are usually analog 1-2...

I am talking about the main outputs and analog outputs 5-6, and the problem is that music and sounds coming from the pc get routed to channels 5-6, instead of the main 1-2. |

because it's twice the money, and I find that the 828 is good enough, there isn't much difference in sound quality wise, apart for the mic preamps, which I don't use anyway. But still, I do agree that ff400 is a more quality product, but I am satisfied with the with the motu for now, as long as I can fix this issue... |

Idunno why I didn't check there in the first place, I was looking all over for the issue, device control panel, the cue mix console, etc... after all it was just in the "sound" control panel, vista had set analog 5-6 as default playback channels. |
