did you sample the phatty? it s sound liek it s not stable,i was wondering if it s not esm but it s cleaner, it s kinda same caractere i think it was modeled on a minimoog saw.
btw after you told me it s not es1 i was 90% sure the 8 was the virus with the aliasing in the highs, cause of the sample you posted in the other topic, highs were as unpleasant to me. 7 and 8 was the only synth i was totally sure it s digital and funny it s both hardware va

Regarding the Phatty sample: I recorded the midi file, then simply chose the notes to copy over. The pattern has 3 notes and out of the root note, there are 3 different velocity settings. So I just selected 6 notes to build the bassline loop.

it strange cause in the other topic both moog were clearly superiors . imo these example dont do justice to the moogs, maybe cause they sound like it s drived or too loud and cause it dont sound as driving with the patch, note you used there

The Moog sounds very rough if you don't drop the mids and around the 120hz region. More so the Phatty than the Minitaur.
The other stuff you heard I had gently dipped with two EQ bands the offending frequencies, and what I was left with was punchy phat, defined bass.
I also came to the conclusion that I am not going to be using the Minitaur's VCO phase re-trigger as it smudges the transient to oblivion.

The 3 synths I liked most ended up being digital...
I guess software stacks up pretty well.
1 sounded kinda bland
4 was...too phat? For that standard psy-bass anyway
5 I can see working but maybe not with that kick, doesn't roll well enough
6 even though sounds weakest, has a unique kind of groove
7 here & there, could work but also too much crunch just like 4
Liked 2, 3 & 8 most. (Sylenth, Massive & Virus)

Feel free to post the Sylenth preset, I have never managed to make a decent bassline in that.

btw if you get komplete you wont have to bother sampling your bass like this, just sample the oscillator and use kontakt, the ladder filter emu is good for basslines, it s like making your own trillian.i did test with my Xs the bass fully made on Xs sound a bit better.. but i like to adjust the patch carrefully with the other sound and all this so in the end i prefere sampling just the osc and using kontakt .then we share kontakt instruments hehe the Xs rocks for bass and would really love to have the phatty and minotor saw multi sampled..

Well the point of recording synths this way is that I get to sample the actual analog filter as well.

i edited ,i think it was earlier when lisetned my ears were probably tired as i didn t find it drived now.. probably just cause it was loud on my monitors
for the analog filter yes it might sound a bit different and if the envelop are tight.. but in kontakt it s ok too.. you gain in flexibily, ti sound really better than the exs24 no comparaison.

about sample, sh101 throuh some analog gears here but it s not multisampled it will have artifacts just after few notes from the root one might still be better than some synths even with the artifacts
after lisetning i find there is a strange sound, his sh101 need revision or what ?
