Can anyone suggest a good sidechain vst that works normally on a 64 bit platform?

What I've tested so far:

db audioware sidechain compressor (gets bugged after big gaps with no plugin activity and the sidechain gets very harsh)

twisted lemon sidekick 4 (same as above + it crashes frequently)

fabfilter pro-c (uses the final mixer channel output, so if u mute the source, the sidechain stops)

thx           Triplag Music

very much looking for the same thing. Plus any other 64bits but thats anotehr thread.

ive never had a good result with sidekick, it nearly caused me to lose an entire Renoise project. I need to see about finally working sidechaining into my work, and now have a 64 bit system...

Voxengo Crunchessor Ive haerd good things about

Have you tried any Melda plugs? THe FreeBundle comes with 64bit versions, I think there might be an optin in the compressor, dont know tho, about to try

In Cubase i use Pro-C VST3 version with a dummy SC channel.

So for instance i have the following:

Ch1 - Kick (Midi out 1)
Ch2 - Clone of Kick (Midi out 8)
Ch3 - Pad to be Sidechained

I add the Pro-C to the channel to be SC, namely the pad.

I then set the send on the channel i wish to use as the SC trigger (this case the clone of the kick).

I have kontakt set up so that Ch8 is the clone kick. I have a kick on c3 sent to ch8.

All pretty normal stuff so far. Now all i do is put the send to pre-fader on the kick clone, turn the volume down completely and there you have it a working trigger which you dont hear. Granted it still turns off when you mute the channel but as the channel is turned down completely you dont need to mute it as you never hear it anyway.

If you need a video of this let me know and i will do one.

Mark

thx soundmagus for the tut, i've read and watched that a lot of times while i was searching for a way to use Voxengo Crunchessor as sidechainer.

I use FL Studio btw, so the routing is kinda fckd.

Otherwise, I know of a lot of ways to make sidechains, I just prefer using a good plug instead of links, sends, automations and w/e.           Triplag Music

Ive been getting into the MCompressor pretty hard and it seems to do the trick, its easy to route the signal and theres some neat options like the rest of the Meldas.

If you haven't tried it yet, well you should, its free           .

even if they arent quite what youre looking for I would say they're some of the best effects freeware Ive ever used, so you ought to find something in there useful           .
