Restrictions can be good things. Compartmentalizing the different stages allows you to focus in on just that stage and not get caught up in too many things at once.

i mix all the stage except mastering i keep in last.
something that i find usefull is the bin in logic,(not sure it s called exaclty like that , it s the B shortcut) i think it s the same as the librairie in cubase. when i start a project i put all the sample i want / like into this by folders, snares, hihats,crashs.... all the one that sound good i put them in, so it s fast when you re making music to find quality samples , i hate browsing my samples libraries.. really workflow killer for me , this is always stage 1 when i start a project

I'm not looking to write fast. I'm looking to write better.
I like to create from 0, I like the meticulous work, I have no hurry.
I understand you want to make music faster if you do not like what you do, if you work
for someone else, or something similar, but if you try to create something really good.... do not pretend to be fast please.
I also understand that the order is always necessary. in a study of a mess you cant work.

to write music fast, doesn't necessarily mean massive amounts of crappy produced tracks, factory style
personally I want an effective production method.
there's no rights or wrongs. everyone has his own methods. that's why I oppened this thread, for further discussion.
the only conclusion imo, is that if we are stuck on something, we can always focus on other track issues, instead of immediately close the project.. and leave it on stand-by for a certain amount time.

You are stating that if you work fast/quickly, your work will not be good.
This is not true.
Many of my most creative and explorative times were when I was working quite quickly, not being so meticulous and just experimenting.
For instance, there used to be a time when I would save *everything* I did, just in case I would want to tweak it later.
Well, I would routinely just tweak things for hours and not get anything done.
Working quickly *and with a purpose* is awesome. The frenzy of pumping out a lot of ideas is really great, and you can always go back in later and take out the stuff that sucks.

this tutorial is probably helpful for newbies, to sort out music making process as is; if you know what you do it doesn't really matter which stage comes first (well, except the final mastering one. you still need to come up with something to be able to master it).
i often mix my sound-designed kick and bass before proceeding to leads (and especially it goes when i'm working not on psy production), 'cause when kick and bass sound fat its easier to create killa leads and effects www.overdreamstudio.com

Yes, everyone has their own ways of creating music, but those are their own ways, are not valid for everyone. This would be the formula valid for all "efficiency = order + clarity of ideas." That one has no order or clear ideas isn't going to be able to work efficiently, i think.

do the same here,i think the kick bass and the beat need to be right or close to it from the begining as we mix everything else according to them
