Guess its my turn….

Location, road and deco – I was at the quarry (or as we call it – The Hole) b4 and I was very happy coming back to this place. The emperators did a very good job marking the problematic dirt road to the party. The place has its advantages (not too far, shaded, proper parking, just the right size) and disadvantages (dusty, rocky, no view) but one thing is certain – the place never looked like it did on Friday….the deco was very nice and the VJ was the best I've seen in Israel – two screens, very nice visuals, camera on the DJ booth blending in with the psychedelics on the screens…. Just kool.

PPL – around 550 very nice individuals. There is defiantly a tribe feeling in all the 3d empire parties – its mostly the same people that come every time and I can't think of a nicer bunch of trancers I'd rather spend my weekends with. Loads of nice looking girls…. There were maybe 10 arsim in the party, non of them sold balloons or did any damage.

Music – we got to the place at 2.30 to hear Nomolos giving a very nice night set, dark proggy tunes, not too bad mixing and a good built set greeted the arrivals that filled the place to the brim by the time Etic took over at 4.00. Itay gave the best set I've heard him play with many original trax, groovy, melodic, powerful at the right moments and well mixed. The it was Pena's turn. I understood from ppl that were at the Boom festival the this dude is good. He is not good - he is BRILLIANT. The best DJ to come to Israel this year and he gave the best DJ set I have heard in a looooooooooooooooooooong time. To all the people that were disappointed from his set – open your ears, learn music, learn to dj or SHUT UP.
I feel I must do some explaining – Pena had the party by the balls from the moment he pressed play. Etic finished his set with a few semi full on trax and Pena started his set with great slowed down full on that was just perfect for the party and the time, played that for 45 minutes and after he got everybody on the dancefloor dancing - he did a switch – first to Tribal and then to Proggressive. The switch was perfect – ppl WERE flying and grooving like crazy. His mixing was spot on – no tricks and no sparks but the flow from track to track was perfect. Pena is one of the most professional DJs I've seen – he was in the party from very early, read the crowd and their reaction to what was played before him and when it was his turn – he knew exactly what he needed to do and what the party demanded. Many foreign DJs come here and play music regardless of what was played before and many times not in synch with the party because they come to the party half an hour before they have to play, don't feel the vibe and just play the music they want to show off… Pena didn’t fall in that trap. He played full on but did so at 138-140 bpm cuz he knew most ppl in the party do not want fast music. He switched to progressive just in the right moment and to the delight of most of the ppl that were there cuz he knew that most ppl came there to hear proggy tunes and not be hammered by 145 bpm trax. he did what a DJ is supposed to do: give the people what they want. We all have a few things to learn after hearing him…
Yotopia started their set at 8.00 and a 4 year waiting period was over for me. Why 4 years? Bcuz that’s when Yotopia started writing music and although I have heard them play before on various occasions – this was THE party for them - the right crowd, the right place and the best warm up set they could ever dream of. And Yotopia delivered big time. I call Tomer and Yoni "the Riktam and Banzi of progressive" bcuz their music is right in the middle between progressive and full on – its powerful and intensive like full on but emotional and airy like good progressive. Their set in this party was simply superb – well built, well mixed, never boring, emotional and powerful. Just wait till these guys start playing in festivals,,,, (tfu tfu tfu…)
Yalli closed the party with a few proggy tunes but it was too much for me by that time and I went home very happy

What else can I add? Not much... I have already crownd the 3d Empire as The 2004 Israeli Champions Of Party Orgenisers Major Leauge....

so I'll just say – 17/12/2004
