I think Hp pass filtering and envelope modulation is the key for those sounds, vanguard comes to mind, but im sure they use virus mostly |

i think the question should be not what synth they use but how they synthesis their synth.
if you want to get those fat psy leads your hear in alot of painkiller, absolum, cpu, bliss tracks you need to make them off tone a little by messing around with the fine tone. try making a lead with two oscillators one of them an octave higher but also off tone |

just get a virus ,detune some saw, or play with pulse with width modulation , env on the pitch,hi pass and/or band pass filter ,unisson , that s the 3d vision sound  but you can use vst too ,some with the same charactere .i think most sounds in ablsolum ,azax, concept , painkiller , menog are from virus . |

menog is virus all the way and i think most of them should be too. vanguard doesn't sound to me since they use a lot of fm and pitch modulation and vanguard has the worst fm in the history and doesn't have a pitch lfo.
my call would be albino.

I would say albino and Vanguard and u have to play a lot with HP Filters. Thats the hole deal of this sounds HP filters  If u are Something, Dont ask for nothing

Try Discovery, Albino, Pentagon nice FM, pitch env and filters on those. |
