Finally recovered to put down my thoughts. This party has to go down as one of the most memorable one. Both the nights and all the artists were just top notch.

I dont think I have anything new to add then what other people said - it was simply - WOW!

Special mention: Dyalien, Arahat, Random (dude...that music is simply Random), Rastaliens and Braincell (now I know why these guys are my favorite). Hearing them in that crazy system - simply bliss.

Too bad about the downpour otherwise I was prepared to doof for one more hour before heading out. Aaah well, a great weekend.

See you in two weeks...           Discover.Vote.Share() - http://www.beamto.us

I once again enjoyed myself thoroughly with the chill stage, I like the secludedness and the intimacy and the great variety of music at all times of night, the UV goa deco had a really nice effect. But very few people were there and I wish some of those DJs would have gotten more attention.

I completely agree! Loved the decor, loved the vibe, loved how secluded it was.

You know, maybe to build some popularity in the chillout area at a big festival like this one, we could bring some chillout "headliners" or live acts one of these days.           http://www.soundcloud.com/djKAHN

Just want to put down a few words. Got there FRiday around 5pm, setup camp and we were on to a good start with classic Shpongle. Didn't really catch much of the music from Friday night as I was sleeping. Woke up just around Naked Tourists set, amazing sounds... full power energy stuff... woke me up good... the whole Saturday the music was really nice... the progressive in the afternoon was pleasant... Then somehoe the music stopped and someone was playing ambient music, at this point I wasnt even on the dancefloor, maybe it was the intention of the DJ's to slower the music progressively into ambient sounds... anyways not the best idea in my honest opinion... anyways... Saturday evening was nice as slowly the goa trance started creeping in.... heard the astral project - mahadeva track... nice one...i totally agree with the chill out area, there should be some place to lye down and kind of chill... the deco there was superb and the DJ that was playing saturday evening around 9 or 10 was playing some really nice darkstep.... enjoyed that... I wasnt on the floor for Digital Talk, but I was expecting to hear something exciting... didn't hear too much.. and it was warmer around our campfire.. so i didnt head to the floor... but i really liked braincell and rastaaliens... at one point theres a track they played.. no idea what its called... superb stuff... too bad it rained .. packing tents and stuff is no fun in the rain... all in all.. a super weekend... thank you psytribe.. mindfull and xexify for this amazing Stimulating event...

WORKSHOPS

But back to recuperating this weekend's events... The party was a blast, and the musical variety worked wonders on peoples energy and stamina, saturday night had so much activity and huddles of fun wafting (stumbling) around the camp grounds, and the music was right on the spot. My only nitpick is that something seems to have happened to morning psytrance, then again I missed both sunrises so I don't know if anyone played any to wind down the full-on, so someone can clear me up if I'm mistaken.

I'm very happy about the once again overwhelmingly good response on the newschool goa, I'm so happy that I want to put a request out to the universe that I'm not the only goa DJ at future events. The music is deep, psychedelic, rainbow colored in variety and is in my opinion among the finest to tell a story and develop a vibe to set up the deeper trance experiences of the night, or for that matter whenever. I'm still itching to play a morning set, a deep night set, and a wacky suomi/expiramental set, there is no shortage of music on my end
I'll likely put together my set into an mp3 for you guys to hear if you missed it or simply want to hear this music again. Its the newness I want to emphasize, I'm not playing tracks from 98 and 99 but rather 2008 and 2009, a lot of people are making this sound again (I ended with a track from The Zap!), and I'm happy to see people spotting it in Braincell's music, who is among my favorite full-on acts for the fact that he plays up the trance and turns down the cheese.

Earthbag and Gabriel rocked it too, at 128bpm . Variety does cool stuff to peoples state of mind, music is by nature an experience of travelling, it needs to go places, and this time it really did Everyone seems to have found something to be very satisfied about. Oh except Celeste, but thats a given

Random! How did I miss saying hi to you?? Doh

Man LOVED your set specially the old old track I thick Shiva Chandra??? With the Oh nama shivaia vocal. Whohooooo, put me back in time when I was jumping in Israel's forests. Please. Set in mp3 is a must. I have to have it. Great times.

That was the classic Mahadeva by Astral Projection..I played a high quality master of the '95 original from a dusty release on Transient records, better than the Trust in Trance release of it

Yes I had to drop that track to make it abundantly clear I'm playing a goa set, and to make people rush the dancefloor and allow me to play faster tracks Strategy worked great. I've been so deprived of anyone giving a hoot or knowing a hoot about Goa trance here, its only fair to drop some classics from way before any of us were partying to set it straight

Oh man, I am so sad I missed your set Aerosis! I had to check out sat afternoon for work the following day

I don't know what I wouldn't give to hear some older stuff--let's turn on, lone deranger, radio, headware, inside the sphere, petomans peflet--on the funk1...

There was a period between the cheeze of goa and the cheeze of modern full-on where the music was just... rad. I've been clinging to the 'dark' stuff but have found much of it lacks what I would call soul. This is subjective of course. The new Procs album is actually bringing back nostalgic feelings, are you into that one? Clearly I am missing out on some fine music and I would be honoroed to be able to catch the recording of your set! PM me with any suggestions, as well.

spring has sprung!!
thank you all so much for dancing and laughing this weekend. I had an unbelievable amount of fun. It was my first trip to So Cal in almost 2 years and it was wonderful seeing so many friends.
Dog of Tears set friday was awesome! Happy more people are receptive to this truly original and psychedelic sound! A true musician and a bit of a mad scientist, DOT knows how to bring it.
Gabriel and Earthbag's set on Saturday afternoon was really warm and perfect in that afternoon sun. I am newbie to this type of sound, and i was thrilled to dance to their yummy track selection. mmmmmmmm.
Asom, your set was incredible! I sat a the back of the dancefloor soaking up those drones in a complete meditative state. A perfect way to end a nice day of dancing, bringing that energy to another level. and yeah, the people yelling at ya were just off their face, ugh.
Rastaliens and Braincell!! wow, their music feels like goa but its super fresh. So danceable, a wonderful, psychedelic and fun meeting point for many various styles of trance. and such beautiful energy from both Ralph and Jurgen.
hmm, a little more light on the dancefloor would be good, but i am very happy it wasnt flooded with blacklights. way to go!!
wonderful party, thanks everyone and those jolly bellies           Bringing Dreams to Life!

What a great party! Good times for me and all I met.

I did as I was advised and went with pacing, but it meant that I missed a few sets. I was one of the first to arrive and set up camp. When I saw the speakers being set up and then had Brad explaining them to me and how they work, I was tripping on them. Sketch showed me one of those speakers in his pickup truck behind the seats. 2000 watts, he said. I told him his neighbors could hear him when he was outside the city limits. It really made me want to hear them. Then they played a Shpongle song, "Divine Moments of Truth" to test the equipment. I couldn't believe how that sounded! My body resonated from it. I knew things would be happening the whole weekend as each DJ from the great lineup got a turn at that system and I wasn't disappointed.

I liked Julie's set and didn't get a chance to say so to her. I was there for another hour as Leo was playing and then repaired to my camp to visit neighbors and make fire. Next thing I know it's 4:20 and I've missed three sets. I stayed at camp listening to Naked Tourist's set as it was amazing just how good it sounded from where I was camped right close until 7 when I made it up for Dylalien's set. I have looked and looked for his spaceship and have had no luck finding it, so he must've been beamed down. Tom was up next and I liked his set. Seemed right danceable for how I do it! Then Random! No more long red hair, but plenty of good music. I wasn't sure what Saturnia would play this time, and she surprised me. I like that kind of music. I was beginning to think the pacing system was going to be through as I knew being the Terrakroma fan that I am that they'd have me dancing continuously. Andrew and Gabriel played a sound that had me liking it a lot. My camp neighbor Karen was next to me trying to explain each kind of song, but I finally convinced her that it is Terrakroma and to just dance and have fun! She sure was liking it a lot. You guys made a fan out of her with that set! 9½ hours was enough and I hadn't counted until just right now.

I didn't know about the Asom music, but it was for me nice to have it playing while I was down at my campsite again. Giving me a break from the dancing and getting a brief respite as I was looking forward to Bobby's Goa set coming up. I had thought there'd be a complete break of music with an hour of silence, but it didn't work out that way, eh? I had met Bobby last year at one of the first gatherings I had ever attended. He told me he was going to play Goa the next time. I didn't know what Goa was, or for that matter psytrance, but when I saw him a few weeks later and he played it I begun to understand a little about it. Since then I have heard lots of different psytrance, but not much Goa though it might be played and I'd not know it. When he played this weekend I really was liking it. I was happy to have so many people dancing with me as the Goa was playing. It has fast beats and a sound that gets inside you. I guess I missed the day when it was new, but I get to hear some now and it would seem that some of you oldschool people are appreciative of this music and this makes me glad to get to hear it whether or not I happen to like it, which is an added bonus. I can see where psytrance went various ways from the Goa, if it is the original. I have the feeling I would have liked this music a lot. Is Meta's music of a similar type? I like that sound too, though it has an edgier sound with that square tooth sound in some of the tracks that I didn't hear in Bobby's music. Oh well, I know little, but I sure feel lucky just be at the parties and experience the music, vibe, and people. 20¢ was next, oops Para dig 'em. I went to my camp, though we danced there to him. I had told Joe when I found out that he liked fast beats with happy music that Kiva was for sure the one to listen to, though I never know what each DJ has in mind to play each time I see them. Kiva plays what I call happy hopping music and he had me airborne with smiles. Joe liked Kiva's music. Joe wasn't too hep to early Saturday morning's music until an hour or so before dawn. He's even newer to this music than myself. I have found that anyone that I can get to come to the gatherings ends up having a good time and liking more of the music than they predict for themselves that they will like, but it seems getting people my age to actually come to a gathering in the first place is the obstacle that needs overcoming. But now he's flying out to sunny Southern California to attend them! How can you not have a good time? Everyone always says hi to me and greets me warmly. It is amazing to me how many people remember me and are happy to see me. Such a good vibe. My neighbor Julio said he made it to this gathering, though I didn't know he was going to come. I missed him and he couldn't find me. Turns out I was right in front of him dancing during Bobby's set. I've known Julio since 1973, but I imagine he'd not recognize me dancing as it is something he's never seen me do! I was talking to Julio yesterday and he described the dance floor and was really impressed with the sound system. He told me he liked the people he met and the music that he heard in the short time he was there. I have been trying to get him out to a gathering for a sometime now. As it happens, he's been going to the La Jolla Campground for many years and this is what made him come out to this gathering on the spur of the moment Saturday night. It might be a good thing for me that he wasn't able to find me. I'dve had to do some serious partying for a third night in a row as is traditional in my neighborhood when friends go camping. With about ten minutes left to Kiva's set we went back to the campsite. I figured I'd take a short nappy, but next thing I knew it was around 7 AM. I made it down for Rastaliens. I had met Jay on Friday afternoon while walking around the campground and seeing Kerry with a mansion of a tent. I bet that wasn't fun to break down in the rain! Jay was for real and a right nice guy. It's cool to meet the DJ's and then later hear their music. Braincell was camped there too. So Sunday morning I am there when he starts to play. I had no idea what his music was going to be, and from reading the earlier posts here it would seem he's been at it for a few years. All new to me. I really enjoyed what I heard and had fun dancing to it as did all around me seemed to. I guess I missed his earlier set, but at least I got to hear the second one. I think him and Braincell switched times or I was confused. I danced until 10 AM and then went to my campsite. I think Poli was playing when I left the floor, though my set list had Andy being up. A few minutes later it started raining. So I stayed in the tent. Awhile later it started pouring rain, then I guess it was too much and the music stopped. Around 2 PM the sun came out, but the tunes were done aside from a group out by the flat area between the bridge and the stage who'd toughed out the rain and had some music going. I almost stopped to join them on the way out, but escaped and made it back to home. The guy at the Weather Control Bureau would only give me two days this time, so thems the breaks. Even though cut short I had a great time, and it probably saved me some pain today and yesterday in the legs and feet having the music stop. Being tired still makes the music good in many ways.

I also saw a happy dancing Spyros.

Thank you PSYTRIBE, MINDFULL, and XEXIFY for organizing this gathering.           - - -

haha funny that was the one track I clearly remember from your set. thats one of my favs from way back and I actually was just jokingly singing it with my friends numerous times the entire week before the party, so it was great to hear:) people talk about goa being just this one melodic sound but honestly Ive been listening to it since 95 and there was almost as many subgenres for goa back then as there are now, from light hearted to scary to twisted, from astral projection to eat static to posford. anyways, great set bro, i really enjoyed it. im interested to hear what other music you got:)

great gathering, as usual from those involved with the production. highlights for me were the starry cold nights, the rain sunday morning, the smell of the numerous campfires, laying on the grassy knoll above the dancefloor in the sun, fasting, staying up to the point of exhaustion, dancing and letting the music take my soul, random meaningful chats, my wife and I being constantly entertained by all the folks walking by my 4-runner going to and from their camps, and my comfy memory foam/air mattress bed in my tent:) I loved playing chill sat afternoon cause this time there were some dancers and chillers:)

musical highlights: Bjorn, Tom, da Rastas, Spyros, Kiva... uhhh.... and all the other djs who were playing when I was around the dancefloor, which was only about 30% of the party. fuck, I know Im forgetting who I saw play.. oh yeah Leo and Julie, and uh, Dylan... ahhh i cant remember. good times.

see some of you in SF this weekend and all y'all others in the desert in 2 weeks . boom           info/tourdates/psy

I took my camera, but did not take one picture. Thank you for getting a picture of Joe and I. Caught me mid step at the far end of the dance floor. I see my pop on the ground and me in the shade while making dust.           - - -

wow what a good time this was. many many thank you's to the organizers for making the reservation look and feel like the old days of the ranch, but with a new twist. Love the bathroom house!! And the amount of shaded camping space is much welcomed bonus.

The vibe at this event was through the roof as the beginning of spring has finally hit. You could feel the excitement as everybody was enjoying the new space.

The main stage dj pod and pillar deco on the main floor was just incredible, great use of foliage from the land with the stellar carpentry work. Plus the slowly fading color changers inside the booth added a really flowing effect on the spaceship pilot's.

the chill stage looked magnificent as well, great use of string art and the placement was perfect, not too far from everything else. There was great music over there too, I didn't catch any names unfortunately, so good job everybody over there!!

The music was great all weekend too, highlights for me was paradigm's unique kick-off for saturday night, spyros, random, naked tourist, the end of bamba's set, dylalien, rastaliens, and just about all of the regular's too. it was a great collection of flavor's all thrown into the pot of audio soup. I'm bummed I missed a chunk of saturday nights first half due to crashing out, but I was bobbin my head in my dreams.

great camping, killer food and coffee from spyros' kitchen (matt can make serious hamburger!), and then campin on the main road near the stage allowing me to interact with just about everybody there. smiles were all around, despite the rain fall on sunday morning.

i'm honored to have been a part of this just like always, hats off to a great team of organizers. One thing that I think needs to be added is the trash problem. Let's not have this place turn into a garbage pit as we've seen the ranch fall victim too occassionally.

the land is larger and if everybody would just pitch in and take home their own garbage, then there wouldn't be piles of it laying next to the trash cans and on the dancefloor. Most people already follow this ethos, but there is still a lot of people that need a little extra motivation.

It takes effort from all of us and many people have already made comments on it here. responsibility for our own actions will be key in making sure that the owners will gladly accept us back with open arms.

can't wait for the next one!!           We are all family. We put the fun in disfunctional.
