Nepal is One of the most beautiful places i've ever been to.
the feel the vibes the beauty is just undefinable.
big thanx to nepal for calling me there . 
now abt darksun 
so many things dunno where to start. hehehe
killer effort by the organisers.. but no ppl turned up
that was the worst part of the festival .
i dunno why people didn't turn up for such a great event.
so many artists came for them and in the end the big names were playing for only few psyheads which was very very sad to see.
i think most of them were scared of it getting busted but nuthing went wrong till it went on.
i think orgz were completely depended on the money they thought they'll earn from the fest for the tickets and the payments of the artists..
that was the mistake of the orgz.they shud've atleast booked the return tickets of everyone if not payment.
even i didn't get my return ticket. me and spiral somehow reached where we were supposed to reach. with some 100 rupees left. 
it was quite a big mission to reach home
the bad part ends here
now if we forget these things which i've already forgotten and see the real part then i wud say that i had the bestest time of my life 
i went there for party,music,nature and much more.
and hell yeahhhahahahaha i got much more than wat i expected.
Gorrump Peyya and spiral made me mad with their v/s set  
one of the bestestestestest settttt i've heard in my life. 
meto and spiral u guys roxxx 
it was almost dream come true seeing meto playing in front of me at such a killer location....
i wish whole world could listen to their set that night instead of just me and a few more...
i was completely going mad i'm sure those few ppl know that 
met many new ppl and many old friends in the fest. had a killer time .
in the end i stopped thinking about the ppl who missed the fest and
it was just me and the music left all alone and i took advantage of every second in the party.
enjoyed everyone's set from discovalley crew also.
enjoyed every second of music.
danced like mad ahahahahahah
got to play two sets
played like mad
ultimately it was mad scene
big thanx to orgz for trying so hard
i really hope that ppl turn up from next time for ur fests.
and i would specially thanx my brodas
Meto and Speeraal for some killeerrrr balagaan
thanx a lot for the killer time brothers
it was really nice to see lesser soul once again
he's the guy this guy never misses any action hehehe ppl shud learn from him .
it was very nice knowing wicked sound system also.helped everyone a lot.

i loved this fest
could have been better for the orgz also if more ppl turned up. maybe next time.
my main aim of going to the fest of music,partying and self awareness was a great sucess so i don't regret anything....
i had real good time

i just dont get why ppl have to bad mouth each other on the main forum page and why they dont wash their damn dirty laundry through PM's/or other means. it makes nooo sense to me esp when it gets nasty like this....if you cant keep it civil then PM.
i guess every thread has to end up having a popcorn moment..
so let me bring out mine now....

gud review pali... Its really nice to know money is not an important thing no matter how bad u get fucked....keeping ur head levelled n shanti is the way. The orgs made a mistake yes...but they didnt do it in an intention to rip artists off. Atleast someone tried to do a festival of tat scale and kept it going for 5days even though they were under loss. If it was someone else am sure they wud have run away abandoning everyone. Am sure they will pay the pending cash to the artists once they recover.
Well the reviews sound awesome and i regret i cudnt make it.
Now let the pictures say a million words.

sad to see that fest went to waste... bad luck man... this is why we need to work together, not compete to have partes or festival... when the mood is right and the intensions are good, all will come out successfull... better luck next time... |

I really did want to make it to Darksun
It seemed like just the kind of dark underground parties we are used to
didnt really expect 1000 s of people to show up due to the wheather conditions in Pokhra so close to december.
Wife an I were planned an ready to come
although the only thing holding me back was the promise of a return ticket the promise of a hotel room. the promise.
hope organizers will have better parties in the future
and also more people will come to their parties
hope that next time the organizers will also know wat an itenery looks like
and are able to organize that for artists.

Couldn't get chutti from work for that long long otherwise would have joined you guys for this one after SJF, had to come back to work.....
Well Lesser Baba is full power, he was there at SJF & then stayed for DSF as well & his job is now on stake...... 
Anyways, pics would be nice....

so meto and spiral played 1 really long set , discovalley guys played 1 hour set each .. what about the rest of the days ? how long this one went on till at all ? 2 days ? and how many people ? 100 ? .. some more details .. ?

i would like to put forward my point of view on the qustion; why didnt ppl show up for such a mega event? well, there are couple of reasons for this. Firstly, i was there in nepal prior to shanti jatra and this fest. i met a lot of friends, travellers, freaks etc coming from manali, goa, europe etc. who told me that they would go for shanti jatra but were not planning to go for darksun. why? because i think 5000 INR was way too high for ppl who were already there or were travelling. i think only ppl who turned up were the ppl who specifically came for this event. i might sound rude but honestly, this is not europe, the scence has just moved this year from india to nepal. secondly, most of the people would have already spent money on shanti jatra, leaving them little choice . third, the fear of bust on the indian side of things. and from what i can think, people didnt wana pay 5000 inr because wat if the party got busted or something went wrong. maybe i am wrong here. but its just wat i think and wat people overthere in nepal told me.
but nevertheless, it was a great effort by the organisers to get such big names and organising such a big event. 10 days is no joke. |
