So 2 months have gone by in 2010 so far and a lot of music has been released already.
What do you think is some of the better stuff out there so far?

Some of my initial takes on best releases...
VA - Kartuxo (Twilight)
Autonomech - I/O (PsyProg)
Progenitor - Electro Bite (PsyProg)
VA - Parvatrip (Darkpsy)
Wizack Twizack - Space No More (Twilight / Darkpsy / Psytrance)
SeaMoon - A Twisted Downbeat Adventure (Downtempo)
Alienapia - Goapocalipsis (Goa)
and for a different flavor altogether (non psy related)
Jaga Jazzist - One Armed Bandit (Nu-Jazz / Freeform)

remember that this is.. best stuff 'RELEASED' in 2010..
not per say made in 2010.. sometimes an aritst makes a track in 2007 and the label takes waaaay too long before finally releasing it... so it ends up in 2010.
So were about in 2005/2006 now....i think..
in terms of when (some) tracks were actually produced ; )

I'm pretty sure that doesn't really happen very much these days. Especially with so many digital releases now, everything is getting produced and released as fast as possible it seems.

I urge you to check 1997 and all the Psy Trance releases that were released than. Stuff like The Lone Deranger, Bible of Dreams, Multimoods or let's say 2000 which had albums like: The Great Beyond, Classical Mushroom, VA Demented, Shango, Headcleaner, Headware and probably more that I don't remember.
Surely this year will be better, right?

No doubt that 1997 (and 95, 96, 98 & 99 for that matter) were all spectacular years, but that doesn't mean new music cannot be good stuff. I know its hopeless preaching new Psytrance to the Goa classic entrenched masses on these forums but cmon - give it a shot - step out of the past for a while and experience some new stuff. Open your mind and expand your horizons a little.
But what do I really care? Not at all actually.
Listen to whatever you like and really enjoy it.
Just do me a favor and use the "What's the best stuff thats been released so far in 2010" forum to post JUST THAT and spare me the commentary ok? Cheers
