What are the new evolutions in music? I guess 2005 was the Psypop year, right?
What will be the style of 2006?

I would really like to see this psypop beats getting more tech-prog beats but keeping their bass driven style!           --

my opinion is that basslines will get fatter, kicks a little distorted. Top tracks will have a non 16/16 bassline signature. maybe bpm will slow down a bit. eg. 2005-145 bpm -> 2006-142 bpm or '05-140->'06-138 (i guess).

Funkiest sounds-basslines. more groovy than killargh smash tracks. +dirty distorted psychedelic samples than twirling and modulated leads. less melody.

plus i see in 2006 the sound converting into a more Rinkadink or Broken Toy sound (just for an example), without meaning they'll be on top. (although i hope so )

p.s.: i don't express what i like to listen to. it's 100% just a prediction on 2006 as topic demands.

cheers           extreme

I think of hybrid electrance with idm and pop (forgot smth?) influences in slower tempo like piko said.
Full on as it is,sounds old.
Top releases will have even more commercial sound.
I hope everybody follow his madness but dont produce garbage.

My guess would be that the fresher and more evolved music -- in my mind, anyway -- will remain in the ambient and downtempo type styles, just like last year.

skazi will "rock" the world with his super "cool" stuff like damm raptrance (worst ever imo)

astrix will play 10-12 festivals and countless club parties.

sub-6 will enjoy their fast rise in 2005.

People will get bored with the dark stuff and the cheesy astrix-clones. A huge batch of really pure hyper-acid will hit the streets in may and people will dig far-out unconventional psy again

Future releases will propably have more diverse influences, because psytrance has evolved in so many directions. 1/16 full-on will die edventually. Maybe it'll be cool again after ten years 8)

im guessing there will be a huge huge split in psy soon. IM, Psycraft, etc will keep changing Psy into a new genre that sounds more commercial and for the clubs. Their music will be more and more remixed by non-psy artists and it will all evolve to a new world. At the same time there will be a huge backlash and there will be Psy that becomes very very hallucinogenic lkie the old days but with a new twist. I see the genre completely splitting into 2 new forms.

Nobody knows the future! or?

we are animals with alot of need of habit,
so a big change is probably not to be seen for a long while!?
such things sneak up on us just like evolution, if its not made by chemical pollution, then it can go fast.. (so drop some acid)

its always nice when a surprise hits... so hit us and do it in a clever, intelligent way... remember that it takes alot of energy to make change and alot of inspiration!
