1.how do i make the amplifier and the filter velocity sensitive using the modulation matrix ...

2. how exactly do i use / program the x-y shaper ... ? if possible please post some example ...

cheers and thanks a lot for youe time and help !

1. There's a good tutorial about Z3ta-patches that will at least answer your first question:

http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=59724&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=

This is a nice one, too:
http://www.traxmusic.org/zeta_patch_derik.shtml

2. In the modualtion-matrix set "XY Pad X" (or Y) as source, range to max and the destination you like (e.g. filter cutoff). Open the XY-Pad and play ;-)

You can set as many XY-Pad-sources as you like and you can even automate it (nice for weird fx).

Or did you mean the "z3ta-shaper"?

matryn, thanks a lot for those links mate

they surely helped me quite a lot ... but i still need to understand what exactly to some things mean and do in Z3ta+ ....

basically im doing good enough with making the patches , but i still dont understand quite a lot of the modulation matrix items ... what do

1.on
2.u-random / b-random
3.u-note #
4.b-note #
5. rel velocity
6. fun 1/ fun 2/fun 3/ fun4

in the sources section mean ??

also these paramters are also there in the control section ... so how should they be used differently than the source section ? i mean how does one decide which one to use where ?[ surely i dont know abt all this @ this point ] !!

also , in the curve section ...
what does ...

each item on the linear , slow , fast and pitch menus mean .... ???

i have read the Z3ta+ manual , but its just a description on how to use the mod matrix ...

i know the main strength of good patch programming lies in the mod matrix of zeta , but in order to use it properly ... i should know what each item means and does ... [ like im soo familiar with the albino matrix ]

i dont mean much trouble mate , but it would be very nice if each and every item could be explained precisely ... so tht i have through unterstanding of this killer synth !!

once again thanks alot for your time and effort ...

respect .. chandan !

Yes, the mod-matrix is complicated and I'm far away from knowing whats really going on there. But I know a few things you asked:

1. If you want to control something e.g. with the modulation-wheel you select it as "controller" and just turn the "source" "on". The guy in the tut (BTW one of the developers of z3ta) also set velocity as controller (not source) for the volume.

3.4. These are the key note numbers. U can use them for key-tracking, e.g. if you want the filter to continuously open with rising note numbers. To compensate the higher volume caused by the open filter you can simultaniously drop the volume with b-note# and a negative curve as described in the 1st tut. I didn't really understand the unipolar/ bipolar-thing but I think it has something to do with positive/ negative values.

5. I think it's how fast you release the key but I'm not sure.

BTW: There`s a special rgc:audio-forum on kvr where you can ask the developer.

Unipolar: A source is unipolar when the range of its output values is 0 to 1.
Bipolar: A source is bipolar when its range is in –1 to 1.           www.myspace.com/mentris

Yes, I agree, the explanations in the manual are very thin even though the z3ta+ is a pro tool. Maybe this could be a good place to share the z3ta+ knowledge-sources we found (like tutorials).

Reverse-engineering the presets may also be a good knowledge-source.
