Ok mu problem is this...
in bass i recently have start notice that my bass isnīt constant.like the volume is not regular, i mean it goes up sometimes...
bar is like _____----______-----this the example o the volume on the channel are you gettting it?in the Kickbbb Kbbb Kbbb Kbbb
i dont hear many interference;but in K b K b (just 1 note) is more easy to hear!!!why this happendīs??anyone knows?
I compress my bass And equalize
Compressor settingīs :Knee1.0/gain+3.00
relaese2.0ms/attack0.0ms/threshold-20.0db
in the equalizer
e put up 200hz/980hz/3900hz
+7.0db/+8.00db/+5.0db
2šissue when the kick starīs it seemīs that is a little behind in time.....like when it should start īs it does....
Canīt explain any better
I Hope you understand my Issues and if you know the soulution plzzz
Throw m a freakin bone.......
WOULD BE GREAT....
Cheers......PEACE N

i have the imprssion that the tails of ur notes are a little too long, and that they overlap with the transient of the next note... Sidechaining the bass to the kick with ur compressor could be the solution, or just shorten the length of ur notes... does it also happen when kick and bass are playing alone, with no other tracks? do u also have the problem if u use the same note throughout ur bassline? |

hi,
long time no post,
if you're usgin short notes, make sure the amp envelope release is 0. if it is bigger than that the note may continue sounding after the note is off.
apart from that, are you using lfo>filter modulation? if so, make sure it aint changing the bass volume..
cant remember anything else
and yes, not 100% sure, might change depending on waht you're trying to achieve, but i woulnd't boos at 200 hz because it can contribute to a muddy mix (i would cut those for some types of bass)
also make sure the volume drops aren't caused by other instrumens (snares, etc) playing in the low mids interfering with the bass, because it can make you feel the bass is droping when that happens..
hope you can sort it out,
joao

Firstly, are you sampling the bass?... it may be that the oscillator of whatever instrument you are using is unstable, or that it is being modulated by some parameter.
If you sample it not only do you avoid that but you can also control the phase of the waveform.
Check the actual waveform of your kickdrum, as it might be that the kick sample has a slight pause before the actual sample begins... if this is the case then just double click the audio sample and remove that section.
Also, It may be that the compressor (or any other insert) you are using delays the audio slightly...
check by bypassing the inserts.
Good luck!

what sequencer are you using? Are you sure this is not a latency issue with your soundcard?
p.s. i agree with sy000321 i wouldn't really boost the bass at 200hz..try a lower frequency to really get those subs working!!

OK ...Thankxs everybody for the helpful postīs
the problem is over... i start a new track with
same bass and kick, i that upper volume is still there , but itīs no longer so present ...
so itīs been " un-solved ",but.......we have to go forwad isnīt it !!!!
i donīt think the problem is in my sound card(witch is in my midi controler ozone -24bit/96khz-is this good?)
the sequencer is logic and the vstīs for bass is audio realism witch i like very mutch.
so i guest the problem is like "unsolved" but i will take your postīs for in a future problem like.
So thankxs gothica, S-cube, Nikc, FREGLE, sy000321, ganjagil
if anyone has more thingīs to say about it.......
bring it on
Hasta
PEACE n
