I would like to connect 2 adittional lcd`s with my laptop that has only one video output.

Would a VGA splitter be a good solution?

Would that work if I want to controll my software like on one screen mixer, second screen piano roll etc.

i think a splitter would just duplicate the output .... wait for someone else to confirm this though

It might work, but i suspect it will work poorly. As far as i know pulling this off successfully would require a magic box like this:
