hI guys,
i'd like to know if is true or not, that live set making with tracks at 32 bit are better than 16, or the difference is impercetible from the human hear??
and another thing:
is true that warp tracks are not good for making live set?? i have this discussion with my friends and i would like to know your opinion about it.
thanks a lot
bom!

U wont hear or notice a difference
...espcially at a party.
its usefull to work in 32 bit nothing more,
because 32 bit is rendered more subtle and with "more" digital informations.
Processig like EQ, Modualtion and stuff is more accurate in higher bits.
While Producing or editing u will get less nosies with higher bitrates etc.
U will also have a headroom with higher bitrates that will help ur master bus avoid clipping,
for example when some channels are too loud.
Not sure but i remember i heard 8 Bit = ~48 db headroom ..seems to be a bit high
dont know hehe.
So in my opinion usefull for Production nothing more..later the CD wont have more than 16 Bit
And what the hell is a warp track :-I ?

yep, thats true
Every bit = to 6db, so if you master CD @ 16bit, its 96db
24bit = 144db
32bit = 192db
...
more bits means more db

You can't count like that for 32 bit because it is nearly always floating point. 32 bit FP gives you 1538 dB dynamic range but that is irrelevant because it gets piped into your soundcard which is 24 bit max (about 21 bits effectively).

On a big system (especially something decent like Opus), the differences between 16 and 24-bit are certainly noticeable.

Damn ... ban all those DJs!
Seriously, how many PA systems have a noise floor lower than -96 dB FS ? ;-P
I'm all for using the max quality available but lets not get carried away ... The crowd breathing will be louder than the noise floor of a CD.

32bit floating point and 24 bit fixed point are two different stories.
But just to point out,
even a "16bit Live show wowow" will sound as good as 24bit.
