Infos Nachdem das erste Album "Dreamtime Enhancer" in Liebhaberkreisen für enorme Begeisterung gesorgt hat, lädt Plasmamusic die Finnische Band KIWA aus Finnland ein um ihr zweites Album "Retroactive" vorzustellen. Um dem ganzen noch ein bisschen extra Pfeffer zu geben ist der Neuseeländer Piep Piper Paul genau der richtige!
KIWA, vor 8 Jahren in den finnischen Vororten und Wäldern kultiviert, begann als reines Goa-Trance Projekt, aber ihre Musikalischen Horizonte erweiterten sich schnell. KIWA setzt auf rhythmische Vielfalt und Liebe zum detail, stellt aber überwiegend elektronische Musik in ihren Mittelpunkt.
KIWA ist offen für alle gängigen Stile und geprägt von der Lust die Grenzen all dieser verschiedenen Klangwelten zu erforschen indem sie Breakbeats, atmosphärische Klanglandschaften und ihre einzigartigen Basslines zu ihrem bereits vielversprechenden Sound hinzufügten.. Eine spritzig- unterhaltsame Reise in eine wahrlich exotische Welt fernab von Klischees des "Goa-Trance". Dies beweisen zahlreiche Einladungen auf Skandinaviens Rechnung wie z.B. das Rockfestival "Provinssirock" oder das "all-Electronic art und Music Festival" welche dort zu den größten gehören. 2003 wurde KIWA auch von dem Griechischen Prestige Festival "Samothraki Dance Festival" eingeladen um neben Größen wie Simon Posford, Saiko Pod, Eat Static, Raja Ram und dergleichen die Riesenmenge zu verzaubern.
Neben KIWA hat das dynamische Duo mit vielen unterschiedlichen Projekten in den Genres gearbeitet, die von Breakbeat, DrumNBass, Hip-Hop zu Rock reichen, sie schreiben sogar Themenmusik für das Finnische Fernsehen.
KIWA´s Musik ist gemacht um den Dancefloor beben zu lassen oder zum ChillOut in Deinem Wohnzimmer, was immer Du auch bevorzugst. Inspiration finden die Jungs (unter anderem) von Filmen, von der Natur und sogar von Comics. KIWA´s Musik ist psychedelisch und dennoch unheilbar gesund. Tief und Tribalistic, gefüllt mit Gefühl, dennoch futuristisch und cyberdelic. Und selbstverständlich, „FUNKY“ wie Hölle.

Pied Piper Paul der dj aus Neuseeland mit der extra würze fing schon 1983 an, Musik der 60´er, 70´er und 80´er aufzulegen. Dann 1986, hörte er damit auf und ging auf eine 6 Jährige Reise bevor er sich dann in London/England niederließ!
Dort entdeckte er die explodierende unterirdische Musikszene und bewegte sich in vielen dieser Szenen quer durch Europa, bevor er seine Neigung für Goa/Psytrance und techno- entdeckte. Diese intensive Neigung forderte ihn auf, DJing 1994 wieder anzufangen.
Seit damals hat sich Paul zu einem der feinsten DJs in der Welt entwickelt. Seine überaus gut ankommenden Sets von verspielt-aggressiven minimalen Psytrance erweiterten das Bewußtsein auf Festivals in über 22 Ländern auf 6 Kontinenten! Ziemlich regelmäßig kann man ihn auf dem Line Up der Main Stage vieler Events mit bis zu 30 000 Leuten hören. Diese schließen Voov (Deutschland), Fusion (Deutschland), Zoom (Schweiz), Boom (Portugal), Rainbow Serpent (Australien), Outback Eclipse (Australien) und Vortex (Südafrika) ein.

KIWA
is the creation of Markku Louhio and Matti Elsinen. Conceived in
1996 and cultivated somewhere in the Finnish suburbs and forests,
Kiwa is the ultimate labour of love for these two talented producers.
One of the mainstays of the Finnish psy-scene, Kiwa has played a
huge number of shows with both the well-established domestic
(Texas Faggott, Squaremeat) as well as the internationally
acclaimed (Koxbox, Lumukanda, AB, Gus Till, Eat Static,
Simon Posford, X-Dream, Saiko Pod and the like).
After their successful debut album ‘Dreamtime Enhancer’, released
2002 on Surreal Audio recordings, Kiwa has signed tracks to well
respected labels such as Digital Structures, Liquid Sound
Design (Dragonfly) and Interchill records.
The new album ‘Retroactive’, in contrast to the diversity of their first
gives us a release with a more straight forward dance floor approach
to the Kiwa sound build on catchy loops, clever, fat and groovy
basses without forgetting to keep the story interesting also for the
home listener as well as the dance floor crowd.

PIED PIPER PAUL BIOGRAPHY
Pied Piper Paul has been Djing now for a total of 10yrs. Starting way back before techno music had a name... playing the dance tracks of the 60's, 70's & 80's, to a club in Hastings -New Zealand ‘82-‘83. From ’86 – ’92 he went and traveled, ending up in London, at the early days of a growing electronic scene. He then found himself behind the decks at an after party (’94), and the Dj spark was reborn. Djing up till now has taken him to 6 continents and over 20 countries in the world, from Japan to Norway. He was even featured in Muzik (U.K Oct ‘97) on tour in Columbia with Cosmosis. Paul’s played at most of the big Festivals in Europe (Boom 02, Zoom 01, Fusion 01), and was there for the 10th Voov playing the main stage (also ’00,’01,’02). He has also played at the Solipse 01 – Zambia, Rainbow Serpent – Melb Oz for 6yrs now, Exxxperience in Brasil, Vision Quest in Japan and Vortex Sth Africa. Ask a person who’s seen him perform and they will say his show behind the decks is almost enough to get you dancing. One can see and feel that he loves to Dj and loves to dance!! Beat mixing at his 1st ever Psy-Trance Dj set at The Fridge – Escape from Samsara 5/95, he can call on many years of listening and of reacting to the dancefloor, to give the party a journey, with well chosen music. He selects tracks with groove (+ psychedelic), to get the guys and felines shaking it on the dancefloor!.......... Right time – right place –right space!!!
