didn't like the intro at all. very wrong angle for me indeed. violence and massacre, wtf? what does it have to do with the sampler? it slices your samples the same way hector's music does?
also not very keen on the on gadget itself. it seems to be like that annoying glitch plug-in all over again! 1500$ for that and a couple of other tricks? no thanks.           "no one ever sweats on a plug-in" -moby

There's something to be said for a company that has that high of a production standard. On the other hand, there's the question of what such an over-the-top video is trying to make up for.

Either way, the video was free, and entertaining... and probably the most I will ever end up pursuing this.

this is aimed at techno/house and trip hop/breaks etc.. producers performers..
i would be suprised if it finds much use in the hands of psy artists.           http://www.landmark-recordings.com/

kind of funny, but I wonder how much of the video cost figures into the MSRP           Gamma Riders EP out now on iTunes and Amazon.com!

The video is shite, its like this product's target market is 15 year old goth DJs that press a button and so much glitch comes out that spawns people into slimey monsters, nice.

Other than that, the product it self is cool. I didn't hear anything I haven't heard before with software (a lot of them glitch samples use a buffer override function for the "impressive" stuff, something that is available to people that haven't bought the Octatrack as well...and for free!), but its cool to have them audio mangling capabilities in a box outside the computer.

What is not cool at all is its price, 1.5k bucks? I'll pass...

i think it will be a great machine, not only for the hands on realtime sampling, morphs and fx, but also for the additional 8 track sequencer with microtiming.

it also can function as a mixing console for 2 stereo devices.

so you get 8 tracks of sampling, 8 tracks of external sequencing, many cool effects (i guess) and a small 'mixer'.

i will most likely try a used one in 1 or 2 years.

(i don't like that video)

Yeah I suspect the price will drop significantly in a couple of years. Anyone remember the Roland VP-9000 with "Variphrase Techonology"?...like real time stretching/pitch sifting/formant processing, that kind of thing, pretty posh at the time, we had one in Uni. It cost an arm and a leg when it first came out in 2000 (I think) and "revolutionized" sampling 11 years ago....it was like 2.5k GBP when it first came out. You could find a used one for 400 quid two years later.

Peace out.

its the companys philosophy. They even spread out a lot of funny posters and merchandise stuff, its just a nice part of their marketing concept.           -------......-------...-..-..-..-.-.-.-.-
