I would rather pay double price for this cd than the price of others with a couple of good tracks, this is one of the best compilations imo this year. Looking forward to the next one from you! |

Dear Nabi Records you are making 200% more than the other labels in the scene that sell their releases for 6-7 euros to their distributors.The price of 15 euros that i mentioned into a parenthesis was just for information reasons to the people to get an idea how come a cd ends up with a sale price of 15 euros into a store.Your label doesnt give its cd's to a distributor or to a store but just sell your releases on its own and instead of selling your releases for 6-7 euros like all the labels sell to their distributors or even sell your releases for 10 euros directly to the people,which is a logical price,instead you sell your cd's for 20 euros which is a tottally unacceptable price the way i see it and the way that the trance market works globally.As you can see my maths (at least to this level hehe) are just fine
About the sponsorship thing,just like i said to you the majority of the labels (i used the percentage 95%) works on its own autofinancing its releases,if just a couple of labels like Chemical Crew are sponsored by other companies then this doesnt change the general idea of how the market works.I mean ok you have 5 sponsored labels and you got 95 labels that work on their own,does this change the general picture of the trance industry?I dont think so 
You said that you had 2000 euros maximum for cd printing purposes and with this money you managed to print just 450 cds?What kind of cds did you printed mate?Digipack with special booklet inside?Sorry but i happen to know very very good the printing prices for cds in various countries of the world from Europe to Asia and from America to Australia and printing 450 cds in the standard format (jewell case with booklet in 4 colours) doesnt cost more than 800-900 euros in any case.If you payed more money than 900 euros for printing 450 cds then i am sorry to inform you that you have been cheated by the factory.
I didnt said that you cd is bad quality music,i havent even heard it,but featuring mostly new and underground artists (some of them have just their debut release there) means that it doesnt contain the highest quality music available inside and for sure it cant be considered a collectors item.Thats just my opinion ofcourse.
You said that by selling 400 cds you will have enough money to balance your first release and finance the second one.YES but the money with which you will finance your second release will be PROFIT MONEY from the first release no?Just because you want to finance your second release it doesnt mean that you can price your debut release up to 20 euros,hope you understand what i mean
About Bedbug and Nik@,guys when i dont like something or find it expensive or anything like that i just dont buy it like you said but this doesnt mean that i cant have an opinion about it.I mean liking or unliking something doesnt have to do with purchasing it dont you think?
P.S Dear Nabi Records your response to Mocca is just unacceptable and the level of the language that you use is against the guidelines of this place,i suggest you stay calm like you did with me in your first response.Please learn to live with other people's opinions whether you like it or not

Oh, come on....
Is it Nabi screwing customers or labels getting screwed by shops and distributors??
Very heated subject.....
The customers know that more money is going to artists and label if the distibution and shop is cut out.
But yes, $20 is much for a self distributed CD...if you really care mostly about price on your CD's look away and pick other one.
Cost for printing etc. for sure don't explain why Nabi needs so much more income per CD than other labels, I also know enough about pressing prices.
I also know what a struggle finacially it can be to start a lable if you don't have spare money for the first year of releases.
Times is bad for the labels, and someone still want to start one and think, hey I cut out the distributors and shops, take that part to help me get established quicker.....well if everything is clear with the artists then why would anyone getting pissed off?
Is getting more than 1$ per CD as a label some kind of sin?
To me anyway 2$ for artist and lable to share is a ripp off.
If they would go on for years to afford their expensive cars and habits, and not give anything extra back to artists or customers I would understand the flip.
But so far they are just tring to get started and haven't ripped anyone off what I know yet, maybe they even give the artists more that other labels.
I don't blame them for not wanting to be ripped off themself anyway.

Since we all speaking from deep down our hearts, listen to my thing ... I think what matters in all these posts above - voices of people who like this style of music and who buy cd’s...
I am one of them, and listen to what I have to say!
My opinion at least 90 % of cd's sold in, lets say, psyshop is not worth even 13, 14 $
Or 13.55 US$ which is the case with certain compilations by certain productions,
Why do I buy this CD, for such ENORMOUS amount of money, and not some other more affordable ones? Why do paintings of Picasso cost millions, and there is some art, buy some other “great” artist that I wouldn’t even hang in a dark toilet??? Nobody will ever know the strangest nature of a modern consumer
If some people want to buy this cd but they can not afford it … Nabi rec says this is LIMITED EDITION , my limited edition Nike sneakers, which I love btw , cost twice as much as same model not limited edition… any more examples needed from real life ??
And even if, my extra 10 Euro will help this great guys at Nabi records to buy a bottle of wine, or caviar. Then I hope they enjoy it, as I am enjoying this cd!!!
P.S> a question to one of people who posted replies here , who goes by the name of DETOX , bro, just out of curiosity, how long does this take for you to make such large replies as the past two you did on this topic ?
Cause for me it takes time organizing my thoughts into simple examples that everyone can easy understand.

Bedbug when i said that 'liking or unliking something doesnt have to do with purchasing' i meant that i dont need to buy something in order to have an opinion for it.I mean i dont have an Alfa Romeo car but i have a bad opinion for them cause i have heard other people mentioning that they have really often mechanical problems.I dont know if thats the best example i can give you but i hope you can get the main point.

So DETOX, what is your proplem? That this cd is not selling by the global trance scene's rules? (Oh, what a pitty...) Or that your friends or somebody told you, that this cd is a big a shit? Or both? Or maybe are you just jellous that someone had a good idea, and brave enough for fucking the system? Please tell me why do you put so much energy in to pull down this project? I just can't understand. It was clear enough from your first post that you don't like it. How many more pages do you want to spend on this story? |

I totaly agree.... Price is there, I believe each and everyone has its own judgement to see and decides whether to buy or not... No need for explanations and details of pressings, release prices, covers and shit...
Ppl, detox likes this kind of discussions and he always 'sits' and writes and argues with everyone and tries to make others go with what he has to say... He never stops and it seems that there are lots of ppl that dislike what your doing Mr Detox....
I think is time for u to stop acting like this, and keep your info for your self and stop being a ball breaker...
In the greek section there are several topics talking about detox and his way of posting and acting...

xe xe everyone has a talent in something and it seems that everyone knows Detox's talent! but he really is.......I am telling you!
Something new(artist) means not high quality(production or music wise). . Being a pioneer and that goes for all industries, sure it gives the feeling of a trust and quality and bla bla... but being a follower gives you the chance to see the "mistakes" of others lets say and come up with something better! That is in this case for the listeners to decide. And Detox, please dont come back on this (what I have said about pioneers etc) cause I Know what Iam talking about.....anyway and at the end Iam sure my friends in Nabi did their own research (as you might propapby did) as far as production costs and selling price and they came up to this price strategy ...fair enough....all cars are not of the same price arent they?!
My god, let people do what they believe is right and best for them and dont critisizing especially in this case which is the beginning for them and bad critisism definetely wont help them in their first attempt to survive!
(as for telling them... after the stabbing...good luck and hope you do well....)thanks but no thanks!If you really wanna help them you should pm them before all that!
Personally, I have heard the cd and it really kick ass, keep the good work guys!
