Hello, good day to all, I finished a track and I had the opportunity to get it mastered ( not by me), So I was wondering if maybe you guys could tell me what you thing, about the track, the composition, the mix, etc, and what you think about the master, is it to compressed? I really need to evolve in my sound, so any tips that you could give me, that can help me improve the quality of my sound, it would be awesome!
Well I hope you like it, have a wonderful day, and thanks in advance! Peace!

this is psychedelic trance forum, being high is something that awards you the right to circumvent the rules and think outside the box. it's fine where it is XD

just kidding, have a good one

sure....

- track lacks of lower frequencies and presence

- its excessivly in mono, lacks of stereofield deepness

- i dont like the synths, it sounds like thouse prog tracks that a guy simply uses factory pre-made patches for hard-style.... (if you wana have sucess this days you need do build everything from scratch and be consistent otherwise your will sound boring and predictable... )

- i have no reason to listen your music more than once, and its hard to listen it full and not skip it...

but dont be mad, the future ducks of london could use your track to describe their theories on psytrance this days...

by analyzing your sound i would get the monitors 2 meters away from the wall and fix the room, your laking on bass becuase your walls are reflecting the sound increasing the low-frequencies volume and afecting your overal mix...

I cannot tell something about bassline because I have only headphones right now but your sound design is really poor. On my opinion psytrance needs more agressive sounds and effects but its only my opinion. You can use more LFO or other modulations maybe an auto filter on the synth do better work. For stereo image use modulation like phaser or chorus or simply autopan effect. And when you mix dont put all in the center but imagine your mix like a picture and place elements on different place. You can also use parameter automatization on your DAW, it will be more interesting that way and unpredictible which is on psytrance so nice that you dont know what happen next... If you dont have any ideas try simple trick use 2 copies of one synth line and pan each on the side. One on the left and one on the right. Then use different effects on both of them and you get more interesting and fat stereo sound .           https://soundcloud.com/nebulosity

I think you focused too much on compression and too little on prescense. It sounds radio-nice but not really psychedelic.

I really like the track mate. I really like the change up at 4:15 though I agree with the criticism that after such a big build up it should really "crash" into that section but it just kind of "flops" into it.

It's nice and varied and the writing is great. Perhaps a bit more "bite" to the sounds is needed though (I like rough edges )

Keep working like this though, you're definitely in the right direction!           https://soundcloud.com/craic-addict
