the ovwerall sound is good. it's not sounds to me like melodic morning fullon. it's sounds to me more like goa stuff. first of all i think the character of the bassline it's not up to date fullon bassline and the presence of the bassline in the mix should be louder to be more fullon sound. i think some of your effects are too loud. your bassline and kick should be the loudest thing 99% of the time at fullon.
for making the track more interesting and breath i think you should change the role of the bassline from time to time. and you have to make more breaks. i make most of the time every 8 bars small break, every 16 bars a bit bigger break and every 32 bars big break. i think the breaks makes your music breath and make the listener appreciate your groove more when it's coming back. when i say i make every 8 bars small break i mean that at the end of the 8 bars, i cut one kick and 2-3 16th of the bassline. maybe cut few of hh. i won't make it noticable too much. it's not realy a break. and nobody would stop dance. i think it's make the music more breathing. almost every 16 bars i would make 2 bars break and after 32 bars i make a bigger break and take the music little bit to new direction. i mostly change the bassline role after 32 bars.
if your aim is to sound melodic. so your not realy..
you use very short phrases and use them over and over. melodies are combination of few phrases. if it's not at leat 4 bars i won't call it a melody acctualy.
for track to sound melodic you should change the note of the bassline sometimes. but you don't doing it randomly. the change have to be musically. and with contact to the other things in background.
when you start new sound in you track, and i mean sound that take main role. most of the times i would fade it in genteely, or with simple fade in, or by filter automation. another good option is to give the sound clues before it actually starts it's main role.
i hope i helped. good luck with it |

true my aim is more to sound like goa but with 16th bassline. about the bl, all one go that needs more variation, i agree also. and the volume of fx still have to get more feel with that. i hope to be back in one-two weeks with a new track, similar style but more care about things. this one i did a in a two day rush-session. i will experiment with the 8 - 16 - 32 (music is only mathematics i remember from logicbomb.. haha). cool you took time for a quality comment. gracias. |
