Now for our previews. Starting with the DJs:

INTELLIGENT IDIOT

(taking tone of the voice over American trailer guy) Part man, part machine......

only kidding

Our very own Mr. Idiot has been tearing up dancefloors in student basements across the land for many a year now. He is also the mastermind behind the graphic design at Furthur Project HQ. Having spent his formative years as a DJ attempting to master his own self created 'traincrash' style of mixing; he unfortuantely found dancefloors to be unresponsive. Returning underground he taught himself more traditional methods (namely beatmatching) and has become a real hot potato in 2007. Fusing together minimal-tech and progressive-trance with a delightful fluidity. Expect chunky beats, an easy going tempo, deep soundscapes and an 'eck of alot of groove. 2007 has already seen him secure gigs in Edinburgh (Indigitous), Leeds (Zapatistas) and London (Liquid party), all recieving superb reviews by those lucky enough to catch him. His dedication to playing his style of music has mainly resulted in early slots at parties (although he is famed for his afterparty endurance!) so this event provides an oppurtunity for him to step out of the shadows and deservedly into the limelight. Now based in London he is certainly a new name on the circuit to keep a very close eye on. Could this be the year of the idiot?

Ignorant Fairy

This is a name that will seem unfamiliar to most of you on here. DJ Ignorant Fairy started mixing Breaks and stuff five years back. He has since moved on to a more minimal-tech orienteered sound and has embraced the digital revolution in music. A highly talented producer, Ed has also been using Ableton software for two years now to create his DJ sets and has truly mastered the process! Sometimes using up to eight sampes in conjunction with each other to create the path he is looking for in his sets you can't expect to be able to recognise too many of the distorted tunes from his collection. Another who plyed his trade up in Leeds - establishing the highly successful 'Surroundz' night which showcased artists such as Hybrid, Tayo and Rene Pilgrem - he has now upped and left the North for the big smoke and we are absolutely thrilled to have him fully on board with this new project. There won't be any trance in here, but for those with an ear for minimal and breaks this mans hard drive is sure to satisfy and surprise even the most ardent of fans. He will be playing early on Sunday (midday to 2pm) so make sure you get down there for his set as it is truly one not to be missed. A near perfect way to start the day

Now onto the LIVE ACT previews:

ROOBIX Q-BIT

Roobix Q-Bit is the project from up and coming producer Alex Harris aka dj Hazza. Alex started DJing progressive trance and the occassional full on set up in Leeds three years ago. During that time he was fortunate enough to be involved in both the Crystal Yamantaka and Globulogic events, whilst helping set up Furthur alongside Hamish. It was through this project, and in collabaration with the Indigitous parties in Edinburgh, that Echo System was born, giving UK debuts to the creme de la creme of progressive psy: FREq, Ace Ventura and Flowjob. It was seeing these artists at work that inspired Alex to have his own go at making some music before he left Leeds and moved to London. In April of this year, after the Echo System collabration with Liquid Records, he decided to take the plunge and purchase some software. Having only been producing music for 6 months now this will be his first LIVE set. Alex has a musical background with training in piano, guitar and drums; but most significant in his speedy development has been a chance meeting with Grant Collins (Excession/Darshan) and therefore being fortunate enough to spend extensive time this summer in Grant's Salisbury studio, getting tips n' tweaks off a true master. His style is twisted and glitchy progressive with pumping basslines having drawn alot of influence from the old ZMA style. This party should see the birth of a UK progressive act to watch out for in the future.

Now, a double header preview for yous to enjoy:

PinkNoize

Psychedelic, electrohouse new age rockers. This band is so hot that their first track was snapped up for remixes on Fear of Flying Records before it was even finished! A joint venture between Henry Seligman (dragonfly dj/sketchy pimps) and one of the biggest up and coming stars in the scene John B. Monkman (one half of Flip Flop/Hemi-Sync/ Kubrik) this is an act truly not to be missed. Eighties influenced disco at it's most raw and always with something cheeky to make you wiggle and smile. We are very lucky that Henry has assigned part of his DJ set to give you all a sneaky peak of their new LIVE set.

Henry Seligman DJ

Along with the PinkNoize preview Henry will also be closing off the party with a DJ set. Though he built a reputation around the time of the millenium as one of the most highly sought after psy-trance DJs in the UK, Henry is now focused more towards electro-house and minimal tech, and it is from this collection that he shall be playing on Sunday. Quite probably one of the top 5 DJs in the country and affiliated with so many different projects it would be hard to list them all: Sketchy Pimps (with Chris Hanson), a new electro project with Dick Trevor, Death to all Culture Snitches, Electro Minimal Excursions with Si Roche, Dragonfly, Liquid and of course PinkNoize, and the list goes on..... This will surely be the most perfect way to end your weekend in London town, nay the Uk....nay europe!!!

Well, first things first, we believe massive thanks are in order to all of you who came down to see what we were about. Also thanks those who helped out(you know who you are)

All sets were fantastic, it was just a shame we didn't pull more of an after party crowd and have people dancing to the music for the first five or so hours until Symphonix stepped up. Then again it was a lovely day outside (bout time we had one of those) and perhaps a little dark in there at the begininning (something we will be looking to ammend for the next one).

The venue, we thought, worked perfectly, and it was good to have a nice intimate space with great sound, and a lovely outdoor area with great food! It would seem that this bastard smoking ban is seeking to make chill rooms redundant in favour of outdoor spaces, which is a shame. We will perhaps try and put some more downtempo stuff in the main room for the next one! The third room was also fairly hilarious with the rock n'roll Allstar Sunday crew and many, many hula hoops

We will be returning on December 16th, so watch this space as we some extra special Christams treats in store and a line up that is shaping up to tantalise and satisfy even the most prudish of tastes

Also, a people have been asking about the website. It is complete at www.furthur-project.com, but we didn't launch yesterday as we were meant to as here at HQ everyone was asleep! We should be going live this evening. There is a whole load of great stuff up there and not only from the party, so we hope you will all be pleasently surprised.

Until december

xx
