Here is some background info on our headlining act.

Gaudium

Gaudium is the Latin word for “satisfaction”.
Borne in 2004 when two mates; Andreas Wennersköld and Denis Bajramovski got together in a studio, somewhere in Sweden, after finishing other projects.

(Before Gaudium, there was ”trance[]control” project, which was one of the most popular projects at mp3.com with over 16 million downloads and sometimes up to 16 000 download per day. trance[]control resulted in an album release with an US label that sold over
20 000 copies in just north America. They were simply HUGE.)

Swedish label Spiral Trax snapped up Gaudium after hearing a couple of tracks, I remember Anti raving about them to me back then.
"Nordic Nature" was released during the summer 2005 and received great reviews some claiming it as one of the best progressive releases of that year.

They have boasted releases on top proggy psy labels like Flow, Plusquam, Iboga, Spintwist, Sinn-Tech and Yellow Sunshine Explosion, plus remixes from some of our fave artists: Ace Ventura, Sensifeel, Visua and Symphonix.
Their most recent release “So called life” is on Iboga records.

The music Gaudium create is typical of the sounds of Spiral Trax, Iboga and Digital Structures.

GAUDIUM LIVE:

Gaudium delivers progressive psytrance in its purest form. Live they are something really special, Chunky, phat pumping baselines, with cool acidic, atmospheric, floating overlays that will take you on a unique musical journey…….Swedish styleeee.
Don’t miss this Uk debut, its only one of the 3 amazing live acts appearing at the next Dream Temple party…….

Cafu
A new promising talent from Lucerne, Switzerland Aka Christian Gafner is showing signs of being a pro from the very start of his electronic music career. He has mastered the art of well rounded, warm, phat, groovy tune making, using tricks that take some people years and maturity to master. His first released track 'Lockstoff' has gone off with a blast around the progressive dance floors in the past year.

Cafu’s musical career started at a young age playing trumpet and drums in bands which differed in style from funky-blues-rock to hard metal. He then moved on to taking lessons in a jazz school, which in turn (in 1997) put him firmly in touch with electronic production. In 2002, he decided to produce his own music.

Since then, Progressive psy trance became increasingly more important to him and this style is now his main focus. Beneath that, he is still works on funky-acid-jazz side projects.
After his first release on Aphonix Records, he very quickly attracted the attention of top prog labels such as Domo, Iboga records, Mikrokosmos, Blue Tunes and , Mikrokosmos, presenting a deep groovy, infectiously rhythmic progressive style.

With his debut release 'Wake Up' on Plusquam Records, he presents his first full length album...which has consistently sold out in the Startessa shop in Camden and has been a big hit for Plusquam.
Anyone familiar with his style will not want to miss this opportunity to see him; his side kick Mirowski and Gaudium playing live to an audience of pure prog lovers.

More info..special 'groove zone' guests:

John Hendicott & Si Chai

(Chai Wallahs: The infamous festival entertainment venue)

John is a habitual DJ who had a flare for cutting, scratching, dropping and rocking it since he was a wee welsh lad. Not really being one for the club & drug scene due to the monotomous and repetitive repetitive repetitive beats and humongous DJ ego's, he has spent most of his career writing and producing fresh phat beats and DJ'ing for more intimate friendly parties.....

Si Chai....started out as a music promoter and DJ/Selectah of fresh beats around 15 years ago running nights such as Kresh, Krylon and Bloody Marvellous. Exhausted and bored of the four and sick of working for gangsters he took a break and hibernated, satisfying his soul with collecting and searching for new music. 3 years ago he became Creative & Musical Director for the Chai Wallah festival venue. Dropping tunes again for the first time in 6 years he realised that the people were now bored of the four too and desperate for new tings. His passion for playing and promoting music was reborn.

This was a meeting of 2 peaceful warriors with two major things in common.....the absolute love of all good music and the passion to create an alternative to the norm.

At Glastonbury 2007 the partnership began as the Chai Wallah Residents with John DJ'ing and Si Chai selecting. By the end of the festival season they had managed to rock it at every festival dropping beats ranging from doobie tunes, reggae, funk, hip hop, percussive beats, breaks and phat bassline shake your arse off tunes. Blending, dropping and chopping genres that would even get your granny dancing. Music for every mood with just two golden rules....NO F*****G CHEESE.......AND NO REPETITIVE BEATS UNLESS THEY ARE PHAT AS FUCK.

Well, there we are…...an absolutely awesome party once again . This time though’ it appears that everyone enjoyed it that bit more than usual. Why?........... Well it could be many things, but I know it did kick off; both rooms were alive and rocking.

Me thinks it was the synergic effect of top class Dj’s, new and exciting Swedish and Swiss progressive live acts, fine sound quality from the Opus... (which by the way warrants a big , huge (Humongous) hug and thanks to Twisted Clarity Frank whose soul existence on this planet seems to be the guardian of perfect sound quality for psy trance parties).

Whilst we are dolloping out the thanks, then we should include the following; lovely Mor (Startessa) and her 2 helpers, (the dj double act) the décor was outstanding, well lit and well thought out, the 2nd room seemed shrouded in that hazy sparkly shimmer that adorns clubs when one is in a full mdma/ecstatic/lysergic state, perfect.

Thanks to Irena for her massive stage couture. To Daniel and Steve for top Viz. Ned for great light show, Spiros (he knows) and Ewan…oh the legendary Ewan for being one of the best geezers in town.

The music last Saturday night was of the highest quality we have had so far.
Starting the night was DJ Wylhelm who did a magnificent job, welcome on board mate…. and Tabs kicking the main room off stupendously getting applause from the floors.
Mirowski...pheweeee….some tunes, I was so impressed by this guy, 12.00 pm and the party already in full swing and Cafu ..Amazing, what sexy music. better than I thought. These 2 guys with their infectious rhythms had the whole dance floor buzzing. Nice one Christian..we loved it, you are going places for sure.

Meanwhile back in the other room John Hendicott and Si Chai…biting there nails at the prospect of playing to a load of hippies …pulled it off big time, introducing new sounds to the Dream Temple dance floor, the Brazilian girls getting low down and very dirty for this set.

Ochanooo, Hamish in the main room took over the controls from our Swiss maestros, and whacked the opus into gear, washing his audience with an explosion of such progressive perfection, once again raising the vibration of the place and paving the way for the Swedish stars.

Gaudium were every bit as expected, and a great duo, presenting a powerful P.A. playing all the real movers from the new album and really taking people off their feet. Loved their little dance routine, they have a great presence and perfect party music.

Oooooh, yes ….and who was lucky enough to witness a grandiose virtuoso from el mean fiddler himself…the star of the eclectic, touting the dirtiest, grooviest music on this planet….?.Well I know plenty of you did, ‘cos the room was packed with hands in the air. Twas Bedouin and his female entourage making all that noise in the 2nd room…by the way!
He was just trying to mess with the head of Ck Family Diego. Who was gingerly awaiting the take over.

After a couple of nervous twitches, Diego took us on a 3 hour tour of electro tinged, tribal monsters, with and audience who were vexed at the thought of missing Nadi next door, but couldn’t bring themselves to leave the allure of his fine fingers on phat vinyl. …ahhh vinyl.

(Da main room finale’...)
Shalommmmm Nadi…dj Nadi (of Domo descent) the man himself…dangerous to put on an OPUS rig at 7.00 in the morning, in a club full of proggy lovers and sexy girls, run by a guy who knows good tunes when he hears them. Dangerous indeed if you were expecting a quick getaway, because as soon as he took those 800’s into his hands, the atmosphere reached crescendo levels…. progressive mayhem…...tune after tune of the most exquisite quality, each with its own unique blend of subtle, edgy funkiness, psychedelic depth and the phattest, rolling bass lines……..where does he pull them from, and always he seems to save the top tunes for this party only.
Nadi did, well and truly, clean up…setting for himself, once again, an even harder act to follow next time….

The people were amazing at this party….I am so glad that London still has the best party people and every month or two they always come and bless our parties…Thanks to you all.
