So, you create everything from scratch? hihats, kicks, snares, farts ... whatever. And if so, do you use premade vsts or music programs for that purpose ?
Or perhaps you use the premade synthedit to build your own vsts and then make your sounds and so on ...

Thx for sharing the samples JayTranzmit!

You got me there. I make some of my bassdrums (dance bassdrum can be easily had in sound forge but acoustic drums etc cant) from scratch. Snares I usually take several samples that I like and isolate the portions that I like and blend them to make a new snare. You got me on the hats though. Although it is possible to synth a whole lot of snare sounds and I do sometimes mix a synthed snare with some other snares. My laziness wins on the snares/hats as it'd take a very long time to collect enough recordings and blend them with synthed sounds to get the snares that I want.

I do use vst, but I never use a preset patch. I always start from init patch (a plain tone) and create the sound I want. Loops are a no no always. When you consider in psy how big a part of the creative process sound design is well I must say if you use premade FX or synth patches in psy you are a scrub.

So generally, I create everything from scratch with the exception of real instruments and some percussions. I forgot to add, never ever use an arpeggiator...if you can't figure out your own arpeggios stop writing music.

Exactly. The music isn't good. 90 percent of it lacks originality or any musical skill. Dance music is simple enough as it is now your going to take the only life that it has left by not even designing your own sounds.

And I'm not getting to the same place. Someone who designs their own sounds has access to a larger array of creativity than someone who throws some samples in. By designing your own sounds you create new opportunities, stumble across new ideas, learn new techniques. So basically what you are doing is dumbing down your potential to learn, your originality, and your music ability.

Lets all get dance ejay and become megastars.

We can all use the exact same samples in our music and contribute to this ever growing pile of garbage known as modern psy trance.

also not too original when all psy artists make always evertyhing from scratch trying achieve the same bassline and fx and usually end up with same and you can definatley hear that in modern psy....
also using the same sound forge method with kick trying to achieve the same kick...

good luck with the originality bastards!

i really like to see a track from ejay compared to a looped based track mede in ableton or any other serius app!

creativity can come with premade sounds also u know there are pretty endless ways to manipulate something preamde to something completely new!

OK, you win Atropa, I lose. Your right.

Please use loops. Use premade FX samples. Use premade synth patches. Argue that its creative all you want. Your the reason why psy sucks now. Please stop making music.

<sarcasm>
A piano is a premade sound. Somone else invented the piano so therefore all piano players are lame.
</sarcasm>

Seriously Dija, why even bother coming in here to call people lame for checking out a sample pack?

This isn't about my music. This isn't a music cock fight "my music is better than yours". My music is not excellent but you don't see me releasing it and I wont release until it is excellent. However, I'm confident that my music exceeds most of the generic psy that is released. It is not at a level that I'd feel comfortable releasing though.

Saf - your logic falls short. FX can easily be achieved with a couple synthesizers. It is not possible to achieve realistic piano sound synthetically.

Why bother you ask? I want people to create better music.

Prove that your better than just the sum of all your samples and soft synths and gear.

Since you act like your trying to prove something I will tell you.

Your music is pretty terrible. In fact there is no music here. Its a kick, bass, and a bunch of sound.

The coolest thing here is the background.

If you'd focus on progressions and melody and incorporate your sound design to revolve around that you might have something.

You are mistaken. Psytrance can be a lot of things. This would be considered psytrance by some but it doesn't merit recognition imo.

Progressions as in melodic progressions, harmony etc. I did listen. What is a progression to you? Changing what sound fx your playing?
