OMW Presents:
Circuit I
This winter camping season, Overmind Works will be bringing you 8 outdoor events exploring the 8 circuits of human consciousness. The first of these is Circuit I: Emergence, happening October 21st. We have a location in Queen Valley (not far from home or civilization) that is spectacular, and we want to invite our friends and fellow trance lovers to come out and celebrate the opening of what we hope to be a long, enjoyable winter.

We invite each and every one of you to come out to the desert with us and enjoy a night of psytrance under the stars. Campfires
welcome sans a burn ban, and we encourage each and every one in attendance to bring anything to add to the atmosphere. Fire Poi,
tapestries, decor, etc. We want to create a community, if just for a night, in which people can share in a good time, explore some
new ideas, and hear some really outstanding music.
This event is free to attend but it does cost money to make it happen. Any donations would be appreciated.

I enocurage anybody in the western US who is looking for a nice outdoor event, in the dead of winter when normally all we have are indoors
to make the trek to AZ where their winter weather is ideal for outdoor gatherings....

Yes, Tyler "Quasga" Smith, aka Androcell, will be supplying a Sunday morning downtempo DJ set. After a night of rocking, full-on goodness, we will have a nice chilled out groovy set of ambient psy to relax away the cool morning and help ease back into flow with the rest of the world. RSVP now via

Nick, please tell me why I should come and play this party when there are much more organized crews with better sound systems in California? Because huge events miss the point, that's why, which is why I intentionally skipped going to Symbiosis. I'm not sure why this attitude you've recently developed has surfaced but please don't make me loose sight of why I like to come and play with you guys @ the small desert gatherings where human connections and emotions are more direct.

I will tell you why, and you won't lose sight of it. Because we will always still do the small intimate meaningful gatherings and you will ALWAYS have a place at them.
Because I have been running ragged trying to expand our options to do bigger and bigger things to show appreciation for some of the people in these crews in California and beyond - to enable them to come and rock it for us proper at a pay event where, if we do it right, we can build our own sound system with the profit to use for small stuff like this and do it for next to NOTHING. So we can continually offer you better sound systems to play on in the desert and we can scout and find even cooler spots and we can all go camping with music whenever we want.
I am trying to do bigger things so that we can have headliners of our own at some SOMEWHAT larger parties and even occasionally afford to have them at the REALLY small intimate ones. Overmind Works is trying to do events that are small, medium, and large. I am working on bigger things because there are performers out there who are qualified and I personally want to share them with Arizona.
And, because of my efforts, certain crew members have told me that I don't have to lift much of a finger on the small parties, which means I can chill out with you all night and enjoy your company without having to take care of (or try to take care of) everything.
And, I might add, BECAUSE, even if no one else gives a rat's ass about anything else I've said on Isratrance and blacklists me from ever playing any one else's events for it, we will STILL always be able to do the small things in the desert. Even if I singlehandedly somehow LOSE the respect of the psytrance community in North America at large, I'll still be able to book people from it, if they so desire. If they don't want to book us, that's okay - we'll just play here and be happy.
In short, we create our own happiness. |

I was planning to come play this event as a friend for friends, to share music from my collection as a DJ (even though I'm not), in a wonderful desert location. I had asked this crew to list me as Quasga, so as to not confuse anyone with the Androcell name, giving them the impression that I was playing Androcell music. This was disregarded and I was listed to be playing as Androcell on both this website and the Overmindworks website. I found this to be disrespectful and going against what I had requested. I totally overlooked it until I indirectly received blatant disrespect from Nick Syngery, despite any psuedo-praise from him that has been posted around these forums. He basically told me to F@$% off for coming to him as a friend and telling him to fine-tune this new found enthusiastic and ecstatic energy in order to acheive what he is after. He misinterpreted almost everything I said, and tried to turn it around on me. I'm sure he'll be quick to defend himself here but it really all adds up to another bad promoter story to put in my book with all the others that seem to happen every other time I lend my efforts to an event.
The point is, I don't want to contribute to his new manic approach to everything, and make him feel that I support this unbridled behavior by contributed to his associated crew's party. Nor do I have time to waste on such detrimental exercises.
I am not a trance trooper, never will be, and refuse to be used as a latrine. 
Self-control and Balance are key to me.
Sorry to have to add to the drama, but I want to let anyone who might have cared that I will not be playing at this event. I just wanted to set the record straight so no one is under false impressions about the party lineup.

I too offer this encouragement! This event will likely feature some of the most pristine weather we'll see in our winter party season! I offer tidings of quality music to anyone who'd like to come down. RSVPs will be required from some of you, so we know how much food to bring, what additional permits we will need to acquire to accomodate more people than are required without them, etc... Here's the revised lineup for Emergence...

Music will begin Saturday afternoon to accompany deco setup and site preparation. Dionysos Pan Eros will play at sunset. Psytrance will begin around 11pm and go until 9am. A special Headspace Desert Session will close the gathering out from 9am til noon Sunday.
More details as the date gets closer... |
