PULSAR is proud to present a new evolution in the PULSAR brand of events. We have enjoyed over a year of consistent, small scale, nearly monthly events featuring some of the best and brightest musicians in the California electronic music and dance scene. As we evolve as an organization, we recognize the need to expand beyond the usual format that our guests have come to expect. At the same time, we also recognize that a certain amount of consistency is desired, if not required to develop the intimate and consistent relationship we desire to have with the dance music scene. As a result, we at PULSAR have decided to begin another journey that will compliment, and draw contrast with our existing events; allowing us to branch out further, while at the same time remaining true to our original intentions, goals, and musical vibe. In this way we hope that this new series will not only appeal to our existing fans, but also bring in others who have not had the pleasure to share a night at Pulsar yet.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Expect a night full of some of the world's most cutting edge electronic dance music. Your ears will be guided by some of the most dedicated professionals in the Southern California electronic music and dance scene. These individuals have been hand selected for their tireless efforts in bringing the most modern electric sounds from around the globe to the Southern California Electronic Music and Dance scene; and now to YOUR ears, for your aural enjoyment!
The goal of PULSAR is to regularly bring together an eclectic mix of different, yet equally modern electronic dance music styles, into a united environment where many styles can be discovered, thrive, and be appreciated. In each edition of PULSAR, one can expect new and exciting sets from PULSAR residents; along with rotating guest DJ spots from the most promising up and coming, as well as long established DJ's in the scene.
PULSAR PROGRESSIONS takes us on a new and intelligent musical journey, focusing in on all forms of PROGRESSIVE electronic dance music. In recent years, many genres including: Techno, House, Trance, and Psychedelic Trance have begun to converge towards similar sounds and atmospheres. The trend has been a trip "back to the source," to music reminiscent of the original Techno, House, and Trance music to grace dance floors around the globe. In many parts of the world, this music is now collectively referred to as "PROG" or PROGRESSIVE. As the lines that separate Techno, House, Trance, and Psytrance are continually blurred, these umbrella terms have come to signify music that combines elements of all of these genres in new and intelligent ways. The trend has been towards deep and mature progressive music that isn't afraid to experiment and combine different musical influences. Here at PULSAR, we are choosing to embrace this fusion of genres taking place right now. PULSAR PROGRESSIONS will bring you an assortment of different sounds, spanning many genres and energy levels, all within the "umbrella" of PROGRESSIVE electronic dance music.
To open the first edition of PULSAR PROGRESSIONS, we are happy to welcome back EVAN DELI-FI. Evan will open us up with a blend of TECHNO and PROGRESSIVE HOUSE; all wrapped his signature PSYCHEDELIC coating to keep the mind stimulated. Next up, PULSAR resident/organizer KAHN will take the decks. Dancers can expect a smooth blend of TRANCE, TECHNO, & PROGRESSIVE HOUSE with a "funky full-on" spin to it. As the night progresses forward, PULSAR resident/organizer ST BLACK will takeover decks. Nick is notorious throughout the underground scenes for his signature sound of DEEP, MELODIC, and intelligent TECHNO, PROGRESSIVE, & TRANCE. Very soon, Nick will be releasing his debut single "Sad to Say" on BAROQUE RECORDS. Next, the PULSAR TEAM is very happy to welcome Alfredo Esqueda, a long standing resident of Terrakroma, better known as ODALFER. Alfredo is well known throughout the tribal underground, as well as the Hollywood club scene for his PSYCHEDELIC, yet funky TECHNO, PROGRESSIVE, & HOUSE. As the hour draws later, we will arrive at the final set of the night. The PULSAR TEAM is happy to welcome back SWELL! Kerry is a long standing resident of Psytribe, and has been active in the local PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE community for a number of years now. Kerry was recently signed to TesseracTstudio, a prominent PROGRESSIVE label representing artists such as: Ovnimoon, Zyce, Flegma, The Riddler/Talpa, E-Clip, Nerso, & more! Kerry will be playing the closing set of the night easing us up from PROGRESSIVE HOUSE, TECHNO up through PROGRESSIVE PSYCHEDELIC TRANCE to close out the night with high energy. As the night goes on, the energy will continue to build well through closing, leaving dancers wondering when the next PULSAR PROGRESSIONS will be held.
So we hope you will join us for PULSAR PROGRESSIONS Vol.1! You will be TRULY happy that you did!
ART/VISUALS:
At PULSAR we strive to create a fun, comfortable, energetic, and psychedelic environment for our dancers/patrons. With our limited pool of personal resources, we have a small collection of lights/black lights, wall hangings, and other miscellaneous pieces of decor. This is of course in addition to all of the sound equipment we are already bringing. We are always making an effort to enhance the visual experience of our PULSAR events, such that they only improve as time progresses. A large chunk of any donations we receive go towards Art/Visuals.
Of course we are well aware that in our community there are many artists, and others just waiting to express their hidden talents. That is why, in an effort to help the local art community, as well as to enhance the vibes of our already fantastic PULSAR events, we welcome artists professional, casual, or anything in between, who would like to contribute to the visual appeal of our events, and put their work out on display. Of course you are responsible for your artwork. I cannot guarantee the safety of your art pieces due to obvious circumstances created between dancers, beverages, and everything else. I am willing to work with you, to figure out the correct placement, or any other details to make this work better for you. In addition, if you get in touch with me far enough ahead of time, I would be glad to include your art exhibit on the flier!
And of course non-artists, if you have any pieces of decor or lighting, especially psychedelic decor that is black light reactive, such as tapestries, posters, statues, incense burners, or anything else, we would love for you to bring it to add the the collective ambiance of the room. Exit Fullerton Rd. off of CA-60. From 60 East make a LEFT onto Fullerton Rd. From 60 West, make a RIGHT onto Fullerton Rd. Once you are on Fullerton Rd., make the first LEFT past the freeway onto E. Gale Ave.. Make a RIGHT on Plaza to enter "The Plaza" shopping center. Go left once you are in the shopping center and follow the shops along until you see "Luxy 101." It is right next to Office Max.
