I don´t see any problem in having some kinda hunch about how things are.. From a cd artist the scale is smthg like that it´s possible to get a gig with 300e´s up to almost ten times of that. Just seek for the quali-originality bommmmmmm..

Could get quite expensive if ur booking a rockstar, but it different from ppl to ppl... And if you book a liveact make sure he does it live so u wont be paying him for just hitting the spacebar on the laptop, in that case perhaps $0,00 is enough

Hail omnipotence Isratrance people,
Why to be so damn disrespecting if someone asks something, even if it is useless in your mind (and I don't even dare to start counting all the topics that I find useless). And anyway here should be enough DJ's who can give some sort of advice in this sort of issues. Obviously the case is such that the prices vary basically from the ground level to the sky. And don't let these people in here to put you down, everybody starts from something and usually from a scratch.

Victor...

It honestly depends on the dj or artist that you are asking for. Some people play for dirt cheap, and I personally would suggest you start looking into local talent for your area. That should make things a bit easier financially as well as helping to strengthen your local scene a bit. Go to some parties near where you are at and pay attention to who's playing. You can formulate your opinion on whether or not you want to book them based upon their sets and talking with the individual.

If you are wanting international talent, that's where things get really expensive.

Thank you for giving him a decent reply... There are two many angry/frustrated people posting replies, maybe some of you need a brake .           "Love is a way of life"

I'm sure about that Dennis the menace. All details will be checked so as to avoid mistakes. =)
I agree with you shamanizer, i'm sure there're some topics more 'useless' than this one (that i don't consider useless). However, dispite the fact they're not helping, they're not disturbing me either. So, i don't care! I'm just trying to do my work and I need some friend's help for that! =)
Thanks for understanding me and for the advices shamanizer! i'm glad to read what you wrote!
These people, don't put me down... they just make me stronger. This doesn't matter now. Things here are going well and we already have plans for lots of parties.

@victor - Easiest way to get DJ's to play for free is to know who's struggling in the scene to get noticed for his/her DJing skills. Find someone like that, i'm sure everry opportunity they get will work for them, even if they have to play for free..
Ok, I guess this is going to start a new debate on "Exploiting DJ's"

I don't think Victor's trying to get dj's for free, correct me if i'm wrong, but it seems like he just wanted to know what is the common price to pay for a dj act...

The question is deffenatly to the point i think, since some of the dj's today do have the prices of a rockstar and it's hard to tell sometimes wheather the name is worth it or not...

I believe it's fair enough to get some less famos dj's with low costs on the side of some big names if you want to attract the crowd in...
therefore the rang of prices for the dj is changing from 100$ or less to an unknown dj, to some 500$ or even 500er for a wellknown one, coming up to 1500$ for a big names live act.

hope it helps

oh, ofcaurse usually you'll have to pay the flying ticket and the costs of living yourself, and you're lucky that in Brazil most of them won't even ask for an VIP entrence to the country - a service in Israel cost a lot, but is understood why dj's asks for it

why would you want to book an artist to do a dj set, when most artists don't even bother to learn how to mix??
